In 14 out of the 16 German federal states law enables you to use Bildungsurlaub. Your employer has to provide you this opportunity with continued payment. Only very few mandatory reasons allow to reject requests for Bildungsurlaub. Moreover Bildungsurlaub is tax-deductible by 50 %. This is not only valid for the course fees, but as well for lodging and travel expenses.
